Meet the Speakers
Bernie Sanders is a U.S. Senator, elected in 2006, from Vermont. Sanders is the longest serving independent member of Congress and has spent is 4 terms fighting for working families, the shrinking middle class, and closing the partisan divide. Read more about him on his website.
Nida Allam was elected to the Durham County Board of Commissioners in 2020, making history as the 1st Muslim women to serve in public office in North Carolina. She continued to become the youngest County Commission Chair in 2023. Now, Allam is running for congress. Learn more about her history and platform on her website.

Parking for the rally is available at the Durham Centre Garage, located on W Morgan St. The garage is $2.25/hr. Limited street parking is available on W Morgan St and Foster St. Find directions to the venue and garage on our website.
